Europe’s industrial sector has been under pressure since 2021. Electricity prices across the region remain significantly above historical averages, while renewable integration introduces new grid stability challenges.
The EU’s REPowerEU plan is accelerating the shift away from fossil fuels, pushing manufacturers to reconsider how they manage energy consumption and production continuity. For plant operators, grid fluctuations are no longer rare events.
Zhejiang Leyu Electric, a China-based power electronics manufacturer, says it has developed equipment aimed at addressing these issues. The company announced its OPIP-6000 industrial inverter and a new series of DIN-rail power supplies this week.
According to the company, the OPIP-6000 includes grid-forming capability — meaning facilities can continue running critical operations during brownouts or blackouts without disconnecting from the main grid. The feature is particularly relevant for food processing, automotive plants and pharmaceutical manufacturing, where production stoppages carry high costs.
The inverter’s key specifications: peak efficiency of 91 percent, a wide DC input range of 200 to 1,000 volts, embedded predictive maintenance monitoring, and compliance with European standards including EN 50549 and VDE-AR-N 4110. The accompanying power supply series delivers efficiency ratings up to 96 percent and operates at ambient temperatures as high as 70 degrees Celsius, with active power factor correction.
Leyu tested the OPIP-6000 in several European industrial environments between January and March 2026.
A manufacturing plant in Bavaria recorded a 14 percent reduction in motor-driven line energy consumption compared to its previous equipment. The same facility also maintained uninterrupted production during a grid frequency sag event.
A greenhouse operation in the Netherlands integrated the inverter with on-site solar generation and battery storage, reducing its reliance on spot-market electricity during peak pricing hours.
(The company notes these results are based on specific installation conditions and may vary depending on system configuration and operational factors.)
The OPIP-6000 series is now available for European markets. Standard lead times are four to six weeks through local distribution channels.
Zhejiang Leyu Electric will demonstrate the product line at Hannover Messe 2026, April 20–24, in Hall 12, Stand D38. Live demonstrations will focus on grid-forming and energy management capabilities.
