Product Introduction
Leuyu Company’s EDR-480 series is a single-output DIN rail switching power supply designed specifically for industrial control cabinets. The series offers two models: 24V/20A and 48V/10A, both with a rated power of 480W. It meets the power supply requirements of medium-to-high power applications ranging from automated production lines to mechanical equipment distribution.
The EDR-480 adopts active Power Factor Correction (PFC) technology and supports a wide AC input range of 176~264VAC (47~63Hz) as well as 240~370VDC input, adapting to global power grid fluctuations. The unit measures 125.5×125.2×100mm (L×W×H) and weighs approximately 1.3kg. It can be directly mounted on TS-35/7.5 or TS-35/15 standard DIN rails, significantly saving space inside control cabinets. The power supply undergoes 100% full-load burn-in testing and comes with a two-year warranty, making it a reliable solution for stable power delivery in industrial environments.
Wide Input & High Efficiency: The globally compatible AC voltage range (176~264VAC) and active PFC function bring the power factor close to 1, reducing harmonic interference. Under 230VAC input, the efficiency of the 24V model reaches 84%, and the 48V model reaches 85%, effectively lowering heat generation.
Multiple Protection Mechanisms: Built-in protections include short circuit, overload, over voltage, and over temperature. Overload protection uses constant current limiting and automatically recovers after the fault is removed. Over voltage protection (30~36V for 24V model, 54~60V for 48V model) shuts down the output and requires a power cycle to recover. Over temperature protection (trip point 100℃±5℃) automatically restarts the unit when the temperature drops.
Harsh Environment Tolerance: Operating temperature range -10℃ to +70℃ with 20%~90% relative humidity (non-condensing); storage temperature -20℃ to +85℃. Vibration resistance: 10~500Hz, 2G acceleration, 10 min./cycle, 60 min. each along X, Y, Z axes – suitable for factories, transportation, and other vibration-prone environments.
Simplified Installation & Maintenance: Fanless natural convection cooling avoids dust intake and fan noise. A green LED indicator shows power-on status. Clearly labeled input/output terminals facilitate easy wiring.
Product Advantages
Compared to other 480W DIN rail power supplies, the EDR-480 offers several competitive advantages.
First, reliability under extreme conditions: its hold-up time reaches 24ms at both 115VAC and 230VAC under full load – longer than the industry typical 20ms – ensuring that loads do not drop out during brief grid sags.
Second, low ripple and high precision: the 24V model has output ripple & noise of only 240mVp-p, and the 48V model 480mVp-p (measured at 20MHz bandwidth). The output voltage is adjustable over a wide range (21~28V for 24V type, 43~53V for 48V type) with a voltage tolerance of ±1%, meeting the requirements of sensitive loads such as PLCs and servo drives.
Third, high isolation safety rating: withstand voltage of I/P-O/P 3KVAC, I/P-FG 1.5KVAC, O/P-FG 0.5KVAC; insulation resistance 100MΩ / 500VDC, effectively preventing electric shock and equipment damage.
Fourth, complete electromagnetic compatibility: complies with EN55011, EN55022, EN61000-4 series and many other standards, allowing direct use in CE-certified end equipment and reducing additional filtering costs for customers.
Fifth, controllable inrush current: cold start inrush current is 27A at 115VAC and 45A at 230VAC, avoiding tripping or damage to upstream circuit breakers.

Q: Can the EDR-480 operate at voltages below 176VAC?
A: The designed input range is 176~264VAC. Below 176VAC, the unit may still operate briefly, but output power must be derated. Please refer to the derating curve in the product manual – typically, at 110VAC input, rated power should be reduced by about 20%. If the site frequently experiences voltages below 176VAC, it is recommended to switch to Leuyu’s wide-input series (e.g., 90~264VAC models).
Q: How does overload protection recover?
A: When the load exceeds 105%~150% of rated current, the power supply enters constant current limiting mode and the output voltage drops. Once the overload condition is removed (e.g., clearing a short circuit or reducing the load), the power supply automatically resumes normal output without a power cycle. However, if over voltage protection is triggered, the input power must be disconnected and reapplied to recover.
Q: Can units be paralleled to increase total power?
A: Direct paralleling is not recommended. The EDR-480 does not have current sharing circuitry; direct paralleling may cause uneven load distribution and potentially damage one unit. For redundancy or higher power, please use dedicated redundancy modules from Leuyu or select a higher-power model such as the NDR-960 series.
Q: What cooling clearances are needed during installation?
A: The power supply uses natural convection cooling. Maintain at least 25mm clearance above and below, and 15mm on the sides. Avoid mounting directly above heat-generating components (e.g., large variable frequency drives). The ambient temperature should not exceed 70℃. If the temperature inside the control cabinet exceeds 50℃, reduce the load according to the derating curve or add forced exhaust fans.
Q: Will leakage current trip residual current devices (RCDs)?
A: The leakage current of this power supply is less than 3.5mA (at 240VAC), meeting IEC standards. However, if multiple power supplies share a single 30mA RCD in an industrial setting, the accumulated leakage may approach the trip threshold. It is recommended to use a Type B or Type C industrial RCD for each power supply individually, or select an RCD with a 100mA trip rating to avoid nuisance tripping.
Q: Can output ripple be further reduced?
A: The ripple specified in the datasheet is measured with a 0.1μF + 47μF parallel capacitor and 20MHz bandwidth. If the load is extremely sensitive to noise (e.g., precision analog circuits), an external LC filter network can be added at the output, or a higher-grade Leuyu power supply can be selected (the typical ripple of the EDR-480-24 can actually be below 150mVp-p). Note the measurement method: use twisted-pair wires and measure close to the load.
Q: Does the product have CE/UL certification?
A: The EDR-480 series has passed EMC tests according to EN55011, EN55024, etc. Safety complies with IEC/EN 60950-1 or IEC/EN 62368-1 requirements. For the latest certification status, please check the product label or contact Leuyu Company. This power supply is considered a “component” and final equipment must be re-confirmed for overall EMC compliance.
Q: What about packaging and warranty?
A: Standard packaging is 12 units per carton, total gross weight 15.5kg, volume approximately 1.2 cubic feet. The warranty period is 2 years, covering defects in material or workmanship under normal use. Damage caused by lightning, overload, incorrect wiring, or operation beyond specifications is not covered.
